Kansas Siddhi Yoga Studio is a beautiful yoga sanctuary for all to enjoy. Every design element lends to a feeling of inspiration and renewal of spirit. Kansas Siddhi Yoga was lovingly built for the community and is owned and directed by Gina Caputo. Our first studio was opened in 2004 in Blue Springs. We are now located in the Crossroads Art District near the new Performing Arts Center. Gina is absolutely committed to providing you with a safe and inspiring learning environment.

What does it mean? "Kansas Siddhi Yoga" is a play on words, spontaneously thought up by Gina's beloved teacher and dear friend, Denise Kaufman. This playful approach to a name reflects Gina's philosophy that while it's important to be serious about practicing yoga, there's no need to be solemn about it! "Siddhi" is pronounced like "city" and means "accomplishment" or "great power of mind and body". So here in Kansas City, we cultivate the siddhis that can be attained through our yoga practice.

Besides a practice for improving physical health, yoga is a non-dogmatic system of accelerating our personal growth and setting a tone of compassion in the community. One of the great things about yoga is that it is inclusive of all religions and the ethical principles we put into action, like kindness, honesty and contemplation, are universally embraced.

At Kansas Siddhi Yoga we practice a form of traditional hatha yoga developed by Shiva Rea & The Global Vinyasa Collective called Prana Flow®. This form, which evolved from Vinyasa Flow Yoga, is an energetic, creative, full-spectrum approach to embodying the flow of yoga. The postures, or asanas (ah-sah-nahs), are connected by deep, conscious breath to create the effects of Flow, balance and transformation. Like Vinyasa Flow, Prana Flow® Yoga allows you to start right where you are now and design a regular yoga practice that is appropriate for your specific needs.

For students with a regular flow-style yoga practice (Vinyasa, Ashtanga, etc), we recommend our PRANA FLOW® classes. For newcomers to yoga or to flow-style yoga, we offer BASICS FLOW. Our LUNAR FLOW classes emphasize deep openings of the physical body (in particular the hips, legs and lower back) so we create a quiet environment of mindfulness, meditation and healing. Our YIN/YANG YOGA classes are a perfect blend of the two styles. And, last but not least, our RESTORATIVE YOGA classes emphasize deep relaxation using blankets, pillows and blocks to put your body into a state of total relaxation and rejuvenation. A great class for ALL adults.
