Sarah strives to present yoga as a lifestyle and an informed approach to living rather than simply an Easternized workout session. A class with Sarah reminds us to laugh often, to let go of excessive self-judgment and never take ourselves too seriously. Her lighthearted approach is balanced by her extensive studies of health and the human body which give focus to safety through proper positioning and a continual awareness of the breath. Sarah is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) through Yoga Alliance.
Sarah received her degree in Exercise Science from the University of Kansas and worked in the field of corporate wellness before continuing her education at Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City. Being a student of both yoga and chiropractic at the same time, she quickly realized the link between the therapeutic qualities of yoga and chiropractic care. It was felt natural that the two disciplines could compliment each other. Having her chiropractic practice settled within the same space as Kansas Siddhi Yoga has allowed her to make this obvious link.
Most recently, Sarah attended Mount Madonna Institute in Watsonville, California to receive her diploma as an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Counselor. Ayurveda is the sister science to yoga, the ancient and scared practice of medicine from India. Being able to help people with their diet and daily practices through the wisdom of Ayurveda has allowed her to merge all of her past studies and current practices together.
From a small town in Iowa, Sarah has made Missouri her home. Now a chiropractor in addition to a yoga teacher, Sarah witnesses daily how yoga can serve as a healing method for people of all shapes, sizes and conditions and is anxious to do her part to get the whole world to practice yoga.
